Recover Contacts, Photos from HTC One Series

No matter it is the flagship HTC One or its lineup in the HTC One series like HTC One X, One S, One V that people use, there will always be a problem during the daily usage. What to do when something was mistakenly deleted? How to recover the deleted contacts, photos and files from HTC One phone? If you got the problem, don't worry, for this article will give you the answer.

Data recovery for HTC One is not that hard, truth to be told. But there is something to be concerned about. Before you actually follow the guide on this article, please stop using your HTC One phone at once. The reason behind that is the files you thought were deleted were actually there, removed from visibility. But if you add new data into your device, the space of the old data will be taken by the newly added data, thus be overwritten. So if you want a full recovery of your lost files, stop using your HTC One phone as soon as possible.

Part 1: Recover Deleted Contacts, Photos and Files from HTC One Series on Windows

And here, the HTC One data recovery software for Windows we will be using is Android Data Recovery, a very powerful yet easy to use one. Unlike some of the self-claimed workable tools, this is a data recovery program custom for Android, one that actually works. The steps are simple enough to grab, just follow:

First we need to download the software, but please note that contacts, call history and SMS messages can only be recovered from rooted phone. For recovering photos and videos on HTC One phone inside memory card, it doesn't require for rooting. Here is the download link:

1. Connect your HTC One phone to your PC and run the software. Android Data Recovery will launch the hardware update wizard if you haven't install USB driver for your phone. Then follow the wizard for the driver installation
2. Enable USB debugging and turn on USB storage, just as the guide illustrates. And click "Next".
3. If an app Superuser Request pops up on your HTC One phone, just click "Allow". Then click "Start" and select your file types for the scanning.
4. When the scanning is done, you can choose the files you want to recover or to preview by clicking on it. Then choose a location to save the files.

When you reached this point, you must have finished the data recovery for your HTC One phone. Check the recovered files and keep it in somewhere safe, in case anything happen again.

Part 2: HTC One File Recovery with Card Data Recovery on Mac OS X

If you are running Mac, you can recover photos and videos storing on your HTC One's memory card. And we will be using another program called Card Data Recovery for Mac.

1. Connect your HTC One phone or simply the memory card you have in the phone to your Mac, and select a recovery mode. (Quick Recovery could recover files deleted by "Command + Delete" or by emptying the Trash, or recover files from formatted or corrupted partition. While Raw Recovery is more of an advanced version that could recover all files.)
2. Select your card as the target device partition and the file type you want to recover, then hit "Start Scan".
3. You can preview lost or deleted photos, contacts or other files from the result list. Select the ones you want to recover and click on "Recover".
4. Then save the files on Mac, not directly on your card.
